Terme di Genova is a small but nice SPA in the western side of Genoa, Acquasanta nearby Voltri.

Acquasanta

The  history of this village is linked to the water of its river, considered holy and therapeutic, as indicated by its name Acqua= water Santa=holy.

Near the spa you will find a Marian temple probably built in the 1465. Some source talks about a pagan temple existing before it but destroyed by floods. The actual Church was built in 1683-1717, but the front and the bell tower arrived only in XIX century. The marriage between Maria Cristina di Savoia and Ferdinando II, king of Reign of Due Sicilie was celebrated here in 1832. They chose a church out of the city because the Cristina’s mother just died: a matter of respect for the bride’s mourning. Today there are two headstones remember the event.
